George Edwards uses an integrated and collaborative approach to guide and advise a select group of high-net-worth individuals and families. He focuses on helping multiple generations solve issues, mitigate risk and capture opportunities to ensure that their Estate and Insurance needs are met in the most cost and tax effective manner possible.
With more than 30 years experience in tax, estate, insurance and succession planning, George ensures that both wealth and family values will be protected and preserved for the benefit of his clients and their future generations. Through education, experience and professional collaboration, George has developed strategies to deliver effective and efficient results for his clients and their families.
George Edwards earned a B.A. Economics degree from the University of Western Ontario. Prior to founding Edwards Estate & Insurance Services Inc., George owned and managed branch offices for Stonegate Private Counsel and Assante Wealth Management in Bracebridge, ON.
He is active in his local community and has served on several charitable boards including Community Living South Muskoka and the South Muskoka Hospital Foundation. In addition, George and his wife Penney have created a home within their community to provide care and independent living for their two children with Angelman Syndrome. This home also provides a place for other young adults with developmental disabilities to gather and enjoy a sense of importance and belonging.
Georges Interests
Flying - Private pilot for over 40 years. Owns a 1946 Piper Cub J3 on Floats.
Golfing - Member of the Port Carling Golf & Country Club since 1993.
Family - Advocating for, and improving the lives of, his own children and other young adults with developmental disabilities has been a life-long pursuit.
